Purpose/Function | The State Civil Service Commission is a seven-member body that has final authority over the administration of the State Civil Service system. Current incumbents serve until the Governor appoints members from a list of nominees from the State's private universities: -4th district, Centenary (Hughes) -6th district, Tulane (Griffin) -2nd district, Xavier (Carrere) 3/1/23: Sherri Gregoire, General Counsel, administered oaths of office to Candes C. Carter, D. Scott Hughes, and Craig A. Netterville. Ms. Carter was appointed by Governor John Bel Edwards to represent the 2nd Louisiana Congressional District following her nomination by Xavier University. Mr. Hughes was nominated for another term by Centenary College and was appointed by Governor Edwards to represent the 4th Louisiana Congressional District. Mr. Netterville represents the 6th Louisiana Congressional District and was appointed by Governor Edwards following his nomination by Tulane University. These are interim appointments pending Senate confirmation. |
