| Purpose/Function | Enacted by ACT #106 of the 2008 Regular Session, the Council was created to establish a more systematic approach to identifying obstacles that impede successful reentry of ex-offenders. The council is charged with developing and implementing effective reentry strategies that improve public safety. HB 990 of the 2010 Regular Session amended the statue to clarify the Commission's name, purpose and guidelines and is cited as the Offender Rehabilitation and Workforce Development Act. |
