Notes | *The membership will be updated when the new appointments have been named. Note 1: BUDGET. Donation of $3000 received by the Commission from the La. City Attorneys Association and $1000 donation from the Police Jury Association only for the purpose to be used for supporting the La. Legislative Youth Advisory Council and the holding of the youth council's annual orientation and Leadership Seminar held each June/July. Receipt of such donation is in accordance with R.S. 24:974. See below. "ยง974. Funding To achieve the purposes of this Chapter, the commission may, on its own behalf or on behalf of the council, seek, accept, and expend monies from any source, including donations, state appropriations, and federal grants and may seek, accept, and use services from individuals, corporations, and governmental entities." Note 2: The Commission on Civic Education has oversight of the activities of the La. Legislative Youth Advisory Council - a youth council of 27 high school students selected from across the state. (R.S. 24:973(A)(6)) *(July 1, 2015 - June 30, 2016)The deposits may appear to reflect double deposits because of when the money was received and deposited but the expenditures are correctly reflected because the annual orientation money was received and only used at the leadership orientations held in July of 2016 and 2017. |
