| Notes | The commission is now functioning since August, 2013. The commission was established many years ago in anticipation of a Vidalia Port, but a port still does not exist in the city. Current management for the Port is being provided by the City of Vidalia through a management contract with the Lake Providence Port Commission. Construction commenced in 2014 with operations beginning in mid 2022. Means of Financing, Expenditures and Fund Balance are being handled by the City of Vidalia until construction is complete. Construction funding is being provided in part by the City of Vidalia, Louisiana Capital Outlay, US DOT, EDA and DRA. |
