Notes The SEAC serves as an advisory council to the LUMCON Executive Director and Chief Scientist.
The LUMCON Executive Board was abolished and the previous SEAC was transferred under the authority of the Board of Regents in the FY17 Legislative Session. THE SEAC had to be reappointed by the LUMCON Executive Director under his discretion. There are currently 9 members. They have no notices, no minutes, no citations, no rules, and no budgets. They serve at the bequest of the LUMCON Executive Director and Chief Scientist and under the Board of Regents.LUMCON is in the process of modifying the LUMCON Council to the following organization that will consist of 13-15 members: one representative from Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government, one representative from each of the four public higher education systems (LSU,UL, Southern, and LCTCS) and one member from the Louisiana Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (LAICU), two K-12 representatives, one higher education student, three representatives from state agencies/government/NGOs/industry, and one to three at-large representatives reserved for special initiatives/programs). Each member will serve a three-year term (except the student member, who serves one-year term). We aim to complete this transition during the 2026 calendar year.
