| Notes | A. "(1) For districts created pursuant to R.S. 28:912(B)(2), each district shall be governed by a board whose membership consists of residents of the respective regions. The number of members on the board shall consist of one representative from each parish in the region who is appointed by the local governmental authority. The membership shall also include three appointees by the governor. There are five civil parishes in this district and each has named a representative and there are three appointees by the governor making a complete board consisting of 8 members." The budget for the district is determined by the Department of Health and Hospitals and is under the administration of the Executive Director of the district. The only expenses incurred by the board are (1) mileage for those board members who live outside the City of Lake Charles and (2) training expenses. These expenses are assumed by the Executive Director's budget. As of this time, the Board has no control over the budget. |
