Louisiana Department Of Health Seeks Provider Input On Medicaid Quality Measures

For Release On:

March 10, 2017

BATON ROUGE: The Louisiana Department of Health will host a series of town hall meetings with clinical providers from across the state to solicit input on the selection of Medicaid performance quality measures.

“Measuring quality in health care provides us an opportunity to refresh our processes to ensure patients are receiving the very best care and the best value for the cost,” said Dr. SreyRam Kuy, Medicaid Chief Medical Officer. “It’s important for us to hear from providers across the state so we can understand their challenges and develop a successful strategy for quality improvement.”

The information discussed and the suggestions offered at the town hall meetings, titled “Deep Dive into Quality,” will be used by the Louisiana Medicaid program in the development of publicly reported quality metrics. Ultimately, the selected quality measures will be presented in a dashboard that will be added to the department’s website.

The meetings will be facilitated by Dr. SreyRam Kuy, Medicaid Chief Medical Officer and Dr. Harold D. Brandt, Medicaid Chief Transformation Officer.

Meetings will be held in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Lafayette, Lake Charles, Shreveport and Alexandria. The first meeting will be in Baton Rouge on Monday, March 13. For a list of all meetings, including location and time, click here.

“We encourage providers to attend a meeting in their area and to be an active participant in this important conversation that will help to shape the Louisiana Medicaid performance dashboard,” said Dr. Harold Brandt, Medicaid Chief Transformation Officer, Louisiana Department of Health.

The Louisiana Department of Health strives to protect and promote health statewide and to ensure access to medical, preventive and rehabilitative services for all state residents.
